Norman Schneider is now “Of Counsel” to Zipin, Amster & Greenberg, LLC. He is a partner at the Kamerow Law Firm, PLLC, where he has worked since 1988 following a year as a judicial clerk at the D.C. Superior Court.  He received his undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and his law degree from Georgetown University, where he received the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Advocacy Award.  He is member of, and has litigated numerous matters before, the state and federal bars of the District of Columbia and Maryland, and is a member of the U.S. Supreme Court Bar. Norm is the author of law review articles on psychology and the law and has been an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center. He has discussed legal matters on Larry King Live and other television and radio programs, and wrote a weekly column for the Health and Injury Law channel of USLaw.com. He has been involved in numerous high profile cases, including representing women who have been victims of sexual assaults by their bosses and girls who have been victims of sexual misconduct by teachers and coaches.

Norm has been lead counsel in more than 100 trials, and has won or negotiated settlements for plaintiffs totaling more than $40 million.  He has co-counseled several high profile employment matters with Phil Zipin, notably a $3.35 million judgment representing a female construction worker who was sexually assaulted by her supervisor, one of the largest awards to an individual for enduring a hostile work site environment in the District of Columbia.

Norm has been active in the community for more than three decades as a Board member of Woodley House, Inc., a non-profit provider of support for people struggling with mental illness; as a Board member of a community based non-profit organization helping improve the lives of people in the Shipley Terrace area of Southeast, Washington, D.C.; as a Board member of his synagogue; as a judge for high school moot court programs in the District and Maryland; as a basketball coach in Montgomery County; and as a consultant to It’s Academic, the local television quiz program for high school students.

Norm is the father of three grown sons, one of whom is an attorney, another is an Assistant Principal in the D.C. Public Schools, and his third is the director of operations for a local youth baseball program.  He lives with his wife in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
