Giovanna A. Miller is a passionate litigator who has dedicated her legal practice to protecting the rights of others. With significant criminal, civil and jury trial experience, Ms. Miller’s practice is focused on civil rights & employment law and criminal defense. Her employment practice has an emphasis on employment discrimination, and wage and hour cases brought under the Fair Labor Standards Act and corresponding state statutes, such as the Maryland Wage and Hour Law. Ms. Miller has a diverse criminal defense practice and represents clients charged with all types of criminal offenses; however, she has a special interest in cases involving unlawful police activity and illegal searches and seizures.

Prior to joining Zipin, Amster & Greenberg, LLC, Ms. Miller served as an Assistant Public Defender in Maryland where she represented thousands of clients, and quickly earned the reputation of being a compassionate, skilled and zealous advocate. Before joining the Office of the Public Defender, Ms. Miller was an Assistant State’s Attorney. She has a wealth of trial experience, before judges and juries, and has handled an array of criminal matters, including violent offenses, weapons offenses, narcotics offenses, child abuse, sex offenses, property crimes and serious motor vehicle violations.

After graduating from law school, Ms. Miller was a Law Clerk for The Honorable Nicholas E. Rattal of the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County, Maryland.
